Will with McKenzie & Allison

Debbie, McKenzie, Allison and her mother came to visit us last summer. It is so nice for cousins to get together once in awhile, especially when they live 1000 miles apart. We took some pictures of the kids. I turned this one into a watercolor version. It looks pretty interesting if you look at it up close.

We are happy that Debbie, McKenzie and Katie are coming down in August, when Will talks in church just before he leaves on his mission. We will take lots of pictures.

Patriotic Digital Scrapbook Items

I have been busy the past few months learning how to design digital items. I can't believe how much fun it is. I'm amazed at the digital capacities of computers. Here are just a few of the items I've made this past week to use for my digital scrap booking. As you can see, these are all Patriotic things. I will post new items as I make them.

Father's Day

I just wanted to wish all Fathers a Happy Father's Day. My hubby Bruce is probably one of the best fathers you will ever find. He has always loved his children and has shown it in many, many ways over the years.
Here are some quotes that describe a GREAT father.

"Any man can be a father but it takes someone special to be a Dad."
Anne Geddes

"My father didn't tell me how to live, he lived, and let me watch him do it."
C.B. Kelland

"A truly rich man is one whose children run into his arms when his hands are empty."
unknown

"I cannot think of any need in childhood as strong as the need for a father's protection." S. Freud

Bruce, thank you for being such a GREAT father. You are loved by each of your four children.

Angie's Birthday

Yesterday was our daughter Angie's birthday. We remember so vividly the day she was born. It was a beautiful sunny morning, shortly after 8 A.M. We were so excited to have a second baby girl. She was a tiny, (5 lb.13 oz) beauty. She has been such a joy to us ever since.
This brings back so many memories. We had moved into Student Housing at U of A. in Edmonton. The year was 1977. Bruce had just completed his first year of Law School. We did not know then that we would be moving again in 2 months to Drake University in Des Moines Iowa where Bruce would complete his Law degree in a combined Law/MBA program. We now had two lovely little girls, Amy our first daughter was just 20 months old. We were as poor as church mice but happy. It was a tumultuous time but oh so exciting.
I have posted some scrapbook pages from Angie's life.

My Very First Post!

This is the very first posting of my new blog. I am so excited to use this as a journal to describe what is happening in our lives. On our daughter Angie's Blog she starts out with something very special that President Kimball said. "If we keep records, they will be a source of inspiration to your families, your children, your grandchildren and others, on through the generations. Each of us is important to those who are near and dear to us -- and as our posterity read of our lives experiences, they too will come to know and love us. And in that glorious day when our families are together in the eternities, we will already be acquainted." I have kept other journals in the past but this is a new and even more powerful way to keep track of our lives. There is so much that I want to say but where does one start. I think that I will go with what is happening in our lives right now and add past history as it is appropriate.
